Research

Septic Tank Sludge Treatment by Constructed Wetlands: This study aims to address knowledge gaps regarding the operational performance of constructed wetlands when treated with septic sludge. A comprehensive investigation was conducted, analyzing the influence of aeration, plants, electrodes, and pollutant loads on treatment efficiency. As a research assistant, I am responsible for coordinating laboratory testing, conducting data analysis, and preparing reports.

Utilization of Sludge from Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants: As part of my postgraduate thesis project, I explored the potential use of sludge as a construction material, specifically in pavement construction and bricks production. The project also examined the environmental impact of sludge stabilization. I conducted in-depth research and analysis.

Wastewater Treatment by Natural Adsorbent: This project focused on the treatment of industrial wastewater, particularly tannery and textile wastewater, using various natural adsorbents. We conducted an extensive analysis of different parameters and evaluated the efficiency of the adsorbents in pollutant removal. As a team member, I contributed to idea development, planning, laboratory testing, data analysis, and reporting.

Alternative Raw Hide/Skin Preservation: For my undergraduate thesis project, I investigated the potential of low-cost alternative preservatives for rawhide/skin preservation. The study involved analyzing the antibacterial properties of plant extracts and their effectiveness in preserving rawhide/skin.

Composting from Tannery Solid Waste: This project explored the conversion of tannery solid waste into a value-added product through composting, employing a zero-waste approach without pretreatment. The project involved observing composting parameters, analyzing compost nutrients and heavy metals. As a research assistant, I contributed to idea development, planning, laboratory testing, data analysis, and reporting.

Leachability of Soil Due to Fertilizers Effect: In this study, we assessed the leaching behavior of arsenic from contaminated sediment under the influence of chemical fertilizers, specifically triple superphosphate (TSP), diammonium phosphate (DAP), and urea. The investigation focused on batch-wise leaching and its impact on soil. As a team member, I participated in idea development, planning, laboratory testing, data analysis, and reporting.
